About the Band:
Hot Tea (Taraleigh Weathers) and MC Booty Call (Dan Weathers) are The Middle Ages. This musical couple are a comedic folk-hop collective hailing straight outta Burlington, VT. Catchy beats, lyrics that tell a story, and they’ve got a whole lot of energy on stage. They aren’t your average crew—they’re all about bringing something fresh, fun, and inspiring to the scene while keeping it real.
Their Sound:
They are a folk-hop duo in the vein of Tenacious D and Flight of the Conchords with a Jamband twist.
Achievements:
- The Middle Ages have already left their mark on some of Burlington's hottest stages, with memorable performances at Higher Ground (including an opening set for Will Evans) and (set with Goose's Cotter Ellis on drums), Nectars (backed by 3/5 of Annie in the Water) and one duo set, Orlandos (with backing by Chuck Jones of Dopapod, Marshall Dominquez, Matt Blair, and sit-ins by Lee Ross), Moogs Joint, Higher Calling Festival (with a guest appearance by Jonny from Lespecial), Inclusion Festival (with backing band Johnny Kimock, Justin Mazer, and Al Smith), B'Autumn's Up Ball, Summer Soirée, and Radio Bean, where their hype man (Ryan Montbleau) joined in for the entire set.
- They embarked on an eight date House Concert Tour with shows from Atlanta to Brooklyn.
- The Middles Ages recorded straight to vinyl sessions at Leesta Vall Studios in Brooklyn, NY.
- They recorded six tunes at Tank Studios that were mixed and Mastered by Ben Collette (Phish’s Sigma Oasis) that boasted a stellar lineup of musical talent, including Ryan Montbleau, Hayley Jane, Josh Weinstein, Phin Sonnin, and Patrick McAndrew. Plus, it was expertly produced by Scott Hannay, known for his work as Twiddle's Guitar Tech and Mihali Band's Keyboardist. Their songs have been streamed over 20,000 times.
What Sets Us Apart:
We're not just another hip-hop group—we're a movement. Our music isn't just about getting down on the dance floor (although that's definitely part of it). It's about sparking conversations, challenging norms, and spreading positivity in a world that can sometimes feel a little dark.
Upcoming Projects:
- Dropping more highly anticipated tracks on Spotify.
- New video for the song Cult Lyfe
- Hitting the road for a tour, bringing our electrifying live show to cities near you.
- Collaborating with other artists
